The first School Library Media Month took place on April 1st, 1985. Since then, authors, educators, and librarians across the country have come together to celebrate the work of school library media specialists. The theme for 2009 is "Worlds Connect @ your library."

Recorded Books is offering school librarians a chance to connect students and teachers to the world of audiobooks by giving away a copy of all 3 books offered by Recorded Books in James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series for young adults. The Maximum Ride series is available on audio from Recorded Books on CD, cassette, and Playaway.
